Brief Bio:
Eric grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and attended college at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. While there, he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and is a registered professional engineer. He moved to Huntsville from Green Bay, WI in late 2006 to pursue new career opportunities with Intergraph in Madison. Eric is married to his wife Laura and has a wonderful dog, Prisoner of Azkaban Sirius Beagle ('Siri'). As a family, the three enjoy trail running on the mountain.
Eric began running at age 27 in 2003 and has been running and racing competitively ever since. In this short time, he has completed 75 races, of which he has finished in the top 5% of all runners 73% of the time and in the top 10% more than 90% of the time. He also owns 40 top 10 overall finishes, (23 in the top 5) and has finished in the top 3 in his age group 65 times. Short and Long Term Running Goals:
In April of 2007 Eric will be running in the Boston Marathon. It took 7 attempts but he was finally able to qualify for this prestigious event. Then he will be training for his first 50-mile trail race, targeted for sometime late this fall. After that, Eric would like to tackle more high profile ultra races on a regional/national level.
Community Involvement:
Eric was recently elected as VP Races/Equipment for the Huntsville Track Club. He has volunteered to work at many races, has lead training runs and is currently coaching several runners toward their first half marathon. Eric continues to play an active role in the local running community.
