Dink Taylor/Owner– Dink has been an avid runner for over 29 years. He ran his first marathon when he was 16 years old setting a state age group record that still stands. He will run his 1000th race on November 10, 2007 at the Huntsville Half Marathon. He has raced every distance from the mile to 24 hours (118 miles). He has volunteered at every Huntsville Track Club event and he loves hanging our at the races. He is the founder and Race Director of the southeast most popular trail race, Mountain Mist 50K Trail Run. He with his wife Suzanne, also race directs the Recover From the Holidays 50K, Rocket City Marathon, The Cotton Row Run and the Running of the Bulls 5K. Dink is also on the Huntsville Track Club Board. Dink has 3 children; Skylor age 6, who is in the first grade at Hampton Cove Elementary and runs many of the 1 mile fun runs. His current PR is 11:00, Alan age 19, who attends Calhoun Community College and works part-time at Fleet Feet and enjoys running for fun and excercise, and Cayce age 17, who is a senior at Lee High School and has been accepted at the University of Alabama, where she will attend next year. Cayce spends most of her time in choir and school activities.
Suzanne Taylor/Owner – Suzanne has been an avid runner for 15 years. She has run 6 marathon, including 2 Boston Marathons. Originally from Houston, TX, she volunteered at many local events and served on the Houston Area Road Runners Board. Suzanne is co-race director for the Mt Mist 50k, Recover From the Holidays 50K, Rocket City Marathon, The Cotton Row Run and the Running of the Bulls 5K. Suzanne is also on the Huntsville Track Club Board.
Steve Carter/Manager – Steve started running in 1981 at age 14. Steve also enjoys cycling and prefers trails to run and bike on. Steve has completed several 50K trail runs in recent years and hopes to continue participating in ultras. Steve and his wife, Jennifer, are both graduates of Jacksonville State University. Jennifer is also a runner and their son, Davis, loves to run, bike, and swim. Steve thinks that Huntsville has a great running community and is glad to be a part of it. He has worked at Fleet Feet in Huntsville since the store opened and says that it is like a second home to him.
Todd White/Assistant Manager– Todd began running with his father in the summer of 1982. After running cross country and track at Grissom High School, Todd received a Marketing degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He enjoys volunteering at high school cross country and track meets and watches all forms of motor sport, especially Formula 1 cars. Todd has completed many ultras including Western States 100, London to Brighton, and Comrades in South Africa. Todd’s future running goals include continuing to qualify and participate in the Boston Marathon (he has completed 21 consecutive Boston Marathons dating back to 1986) and staying healthy.
Lonnie Vogan - Lonnie has been running for 30 years. He started running ultras about 12 years ago and has completed 40+ ultras ranging from 30 - 100 miles in distance. He is the original "part time" employee at Fleet Feet Huntsville, starting before the store officially opened. He works for Boeing in Finance and has been married to Gina for 30 years. He and Gina have two kids, Nick, 22 and Whitney, 20. Lonnie loves the outdoors and a healthy lifestyle and enjoys helping others to do the same. Lonnie has set a goal for himself to do what he calls an "epic adventure" each year. This might include a Grand Canyon double crossing , a hundred mile mountain tred in the wilderness or whatever challenges "keeps you young". His favorite quote is "only by pushing your limits, can you understand what they are".
Cheryl Stone/Assistant Manager - Cheryl is new to the running commmunity. Her first race was Cotton Row in May 2007. Since then, she has run many local 5Ks and 10Ks. She recently finished her first two half marathons. Cheryl started with Fleet Feet Huntsville in September 2006. Prior to that she worked for a New Balance Store in Raleigh, NC. Cheryl earned her bachelor degree in social work and a K-6 teaching certification. She plans to continue being part of the Huntsville running community and is planning on doing the Rocket City Marathon in December.
Caitlin Heider – Caitlin is currently a senior at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, majoring in Elementary Education. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Caitlin is a member of UAH’s cross country and track teams. She is heading into her eighth year of competitive running and hopes to continue her career and take on new challenges the sport has to offer after completing her NCAA eligibility.
Ovella Jesse – Ovella has been running for 25 years. She has a 23-year old daughter, Angela, and holds a degree in Veterinary Tech. from Morehead State University. Along with her husband, Ken, Ovella has co-directed both the Rocket City Half Marathon and the UAH Spring Road Race for four years. She has been an HTC member for the past 20 years and enjoys volunteering at local races. Among the several marathons Ovella has run, she also finds time for her other hobbies which include cooking, gardening, and nutrition.
Craig Armstong - Craig began his running career at age 16. Craig has run over 60 marathons and ultra-marathons over the last 15 years. Craig and his wife Lucy moved from Illinois to Huntsville 17 years ago. They have 4 daughters who all enjoy running, biking and swimming. Craig has also competed in triathlons and is currently racing with a master cycling team. Cras has worked at Fleet Feet since the store opened and loves helping customers reach their goals.
