Open water swim trainings will have certified Lifeguards present and you will also be provided support in choosing a wetsuit and becoming comfortable in a wetsuit. In addition to weekly group training, you will have the opportunity to have your training customized for your level or time constraints by an USAT-Certified Coach. Last year our participants had over a 90% success rate with this program. Come train with a proven program, fun coaches and local triathletes.
PREREQUISTES
Graduate of 2013's Tri 201 Program, or have completed a minimum of an Olympic Triathlon in the past 6 months. Due to the advanced level of training for this program, you will need to submit proof through the registration process of your most current Olympic triathlon if you are not a 2013 Tri 201 Graduate. If you do not meet these criteria but believe this course is for you, you must receive approval from the Triathlon Training Director, Caneilia Patterson caneilia@fleetfeethuntsville.com, prior to registration. This program is also suggested for current 70.3 finishers who wish to improve on their 70.3 time.
*Must be at least 18 years of age to register*
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Obviously a bike, swim gear and run gear. If you have not been fitted for shoes, please visit Fleet Feet for a free fitting.
- Wetsuit: due to timing of race and open water training leading up to the race, a wetsuit will be a necessity. We will guide you on purchasing a wetsuit to meet your needs and budget. Wetsuit not needed until the last few weeks of training.
- Reflective gear and blinking lights will be required for group bike rides, especially for Arsenal group rides. Head lamps will become necessary in the last few weeks of training.
GOAL RACE
There are so many great 70.3 races in the Fall, so choose your own race & use this program to prepare you. We will be lining up our training program to prepare participants for the Ironman Augusta 70.3 on Sept 29th, in which Fleet Feet staff & coaches will be traveling to support you. This is a fantastic 70.3 for first timers! There are also other options of 70.3 races in the TN & AL area in September & October that you could choose. If you are choosing Ironman Augusta 70.3, it is highly recommended that you register immediately to avoid early sell-out of the race.
